Introducing our speakers
This year’s event brings together a distinguished lineup of national and international experts dedicated to advancing tinnitus care, research, and support. Our speakers include clinical innovators, research trailblazers, lived experience advocates, and cross-disciplinary thinkers, all committed to sharing the latest insights and practical strategies in tinnitus management. Join us to gain valuable knowledge from leading voices in audiology, mental health, and beyond, and be part of the conversation driving real progress in tinnitus care.
James A Henry, PhD, is an audiologist with a doctorate in behavioural neuroscience. He spent over 35 years as an auditory researcher focusing mostly on clinical assessment and treatment of tinnitus. Dr Henry, who retired in 2022, continues to give lectures and training workshops, serves as an educational consultant, and has maintained his role as editor-at-large for the American Tinnitus Association’s journal Tinnitus Today. His primary interest is writing books about tinnitus, sound hypersensitivity disorders, and hearing loss. Since retiring, he has published four books under his corporation Ears Gone Wrong, LLC.

Robin Guillard is a young researcher focused on the interactions between tinnitus and sleep, as well as tinnitus heterogeneity. His journey began as an engineer, which led him to become an entrepreneur passionate about neuroscience. Eight years ago, he launched his first startup, Zeta Technologies, aimed at alleviating tinnitus. Unfortunately the clinical trial to evaluate their solution did not yield spectacular results, and so he discontinued the project because they didn’t want to sell a placebo. This experience opened his eyes to the vast amount of knowledge still to be uncovered about tinnitus and therefore focused his efforts on research to develop long-term solutions rather than pursuing short-term, poorly supported options. Consequently, he embarked on a PhD, which he recently completed, and is now a postdoctoral fellow. To further contribute to helping tinnitus patients, Robin co-founded Siopi, a mutual help community designed to enhance efficient support among tinnitus patients while also accelerating research by collecting epidemiological data and providing information on ongoing clinical trials.

Do you want to share your research withe the hearing health community?
We invite researchers, clinicians, and students to submit abstracts for the Research Poster Session at the Tinnitus UK Conference 2025, taking place on Friday 19 September in a hybrid format. This session offers a platform to share innovative research, clinical advancements, and emerging insights that contribute to the understanding and management of tinnitus.
Posters will be displayed in the exhibition hall and on the conference app, and if you apply for a Talking Poster, your submission will be considered for one of the conference sessions where we will have a research round robin.
Apply now to share your research with the hearing health community and people living with tinnitus.
