Supporting Children and Young People with Tinnitus
With Claire Benton, Clinical Audiologist
Wednesday 15th October, 5.00pm – 6.00pm

Tinnitus can affect children and young people just as it does adults, but it isn’t always easy to spot. Not every child will say they hear sounds no one else can, so teachers and parents play a vital role in noticing the signs, asking the right questions, and ensuring the child feels supported.

In this session, audiologist Claire Benton will explore how tinnitus presents in children and young people and what to look out for if you suspect a child may be experiencing it. We’ll cover:

  • The kinds of things a child might say or do that suggest tinnitus.
  • Gentle, age-appropriate questions teachers and parents can ask.
  • How to approach conversations in a supportive, non-alarming way.
  • What schools can do to reduce the impact of tinnitus in the classroom.
  • Practical strategies for parents to help their child manage tinnitus at home and socially.
  • Where to go for further help and assessment.

This webinar is designed especially for teachers who want to better understand and support pupils with tinnitus and for parents and caregivers seeking guidance on how to help their child live well with tinnitus at home, at school or college and beyond.

This event is FREE for Tinnitus UK Members – don’t miss your chance to gain fresh insights and ask your questions to the experts!
