We were delighted to be asked to participate in the British Acoustic Neuroma Association (BANA) Conference in our home city of Sheffield on 14 October.

An acoustic neuroma is a type of non-cancerous (benign) brain tumour which grows on the nerve used for hearing and balance, which can cause problems such as hearing loss, tinnitus and unsteadiness.

It is a very rare condition, but it can be picked up by MRI or CT scans, which is why – if you have hearing loss or tinnitus that is single sided – you may be referred for one or both tests.

Most of the people in the room had experienced tinnitus, or were experiencing tinnitus, so we had a lively discussion after our own Nic Wray had talked about some of the myths around tinnitus, and shared management tips and techniques.

Many thanks to BANA for inviting us, and we look forward to working with you again in the future.
