“I have arrived at a moment of significant crisis.”

"But also at a moment of significant opportunity to shape our future." Alex Brooks-Johnson shares his thoughts on the future of Tinnitus UK

As the newly-appointed Chief Executive of Tinnitus UK, I have arrived at a moment of significant crisis for the charity, but also at a moment of significant opportunity to shape our future.

Tinnitus UK has, since the first impact of the pandemic in 2020, spent more than it has  been able to raise – in a desire to minimise the impact on the UK’s tinnitus community

But we have now reached the point where there are no more reserves to be dipped into and we need to ask our community for urgent financial support

I have come to Tinnitus UK for two reasons. Firstly, because I am an experienced charity CEO with a strong record of success in solving problems like this and creating pathways to the secure, well-funded futures that all charities need.

The second reason I am here is that I have tinnitus and have lived with this often crippling condition for over 11 years. I know what this feels like, how debilitating it is, and how tinnitus can prevent you from the life you want to lead.

No one without tinnitus understands its impact. No one without experience themselves or within their family understands how debilitating this condition is. No one outside the tinnitus community is going to come to the aid of Tinnitus UK – the only charity dedicated to their support.

They need you – we need you. Please, give what you can today to help us secure the future of Tinnitus UK. Thank you.
