CBT for Tinnitus E-Programme

Established in 2009, this 12 stage intervention combines online learning with 1-1 appointments and email support

Established in 2009 as the internet-based Tinnitus E-Programme (TEP), it was made therapist-supported in 2018 following outcomes of an independent evaluation by NHBRC.

The 12 stage intervention combines online learning with 1-1 appointments and email support. The process guides the user step by step through a process that leads to significantly reduced distress. Clinical measures, including the Tinnitus Functional Index (TFI), are used to track progress. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy combines with explanations of the neuroscience involved in how and what we think, feel and do that leads to the objective: that tinnitus has little influence in day to day living.

As a Hearing Therapist and qualified psychotherapist, changing how people experience tinnitus has been my clinical specialism for 30 years. I am very happy indeed to be supporting Tinnitus UK in its work now and in to the future as a corporate member.

A lot can be achieved when organisations and individuals pull together, so partnering with Tinnitus UK in support of what we all want to be a brighter future for those struggling with tinnitus so they struggle much less and preferably, not at all.
