Tinnitus support is expanding in the South West

Reaching Tinnitus Communities in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall.

We need you!

Across Cornwall, Devon, and Dorset, thousands of people are living with tinnitus, often without access to the support they need.

  • South West England has the highest prevalence of tinnitus in the country
  • Rural communities face limited transport and patchy connectivity
  • Many people are left isolated, anxious, and without clear support pathways
  • NHS services often don’t have anywhere to refer people for ongoing support

Without support, people with tinnitus are struggling in silence, feeling lonely and unheard.

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we’re building a new network of tinnitus support across the South West, creating spaces where people feel understood, supported, and more in control of their tinnitus.

This includes:

  • New local support groups
  • Tinnitus UK events in local communities (starting with Poole and Exeter)
  • Training for volunteer support group leaders
  • Ongoing advice, resources, and expert support

This support will help individuals feel less isolated and more confident, provide practical strategies to manage their tinnitus, strengthen social connections, and ultimately empower them to live full, meaningful lives once again.

But we need your help to grow this network.

We’re recruiting new Support Group Leaders across the UK, starting in the South West.

You don’t need to be an expert on tinnitus. What matters is lived experience, empathy, and a willingness to bring people together. You’ll be part of something which genuinely changes people’s lives.

You could:

  • Run a local group in your community
  • Help host an online session
  • Be part of a growing network of support
  • Or simply attend and connect with others who understand what you’re going through.

Get involved

This is your chance to make sure no one in Dorset, Devon or Cornwall faces tinnitus alone.
